San Antonio Child Photographer | First Birthday Portraits & Cake Smash

 

Reagan first came to the San Antonio studio for newborn portraits and in a blink was already returning for her first birthday photo session with cake smash and bubble bath!  She was lovely in a princess crown on my vintage love seat and just adored the pearl necklace props.  Reagan’s mama gave me some special things to include on her first birthday chalk board so that they will always remember what she was like at this adorable age.

We recreated some of Reagan’s newborn portraits to show her growth… I love the sport shots since Mom says balls are her favorite toy.

Reagan’s first birthday cake smash was a cupcake theme and we shot them outdoors in my vintage high chair.  She had a slow start but was soon digging right in!  And the little genius can hold up one finger for being one!  With all that cake and icing everywhere, we simply had to give her a bubble bath to clean up. San Antonio Photographer | Puppies!

As a newborn photographer, I obviously love babies.  I also love animals.  So I super-duper love baby animals!

I had so much fun photographing these 7 week old Papillon puppies.  If you are in the market, the male pup here is available from a fantastic local breeder named Forevr Papillons. (sic)

These two were pretty similar to photographing twin toddlers… they needed coddling, silly sounds, and funny faces.  🙂   We styled them with some fall setups and they were already feeling the Christmas spirit.  Guaranteed to make you smile.

San Antonio Baby Photographer | Baby’s First Year Portrait Plan | Nolan

As San Antonio’s premier baby photographer, I love watching children grow from sleepy newborns to chubby, smiley babies, then to spunky toddlers celebrating their first birthday!  I offer a Belly to Birthday Portrait Package that captures that first precious year and documents the growth that happens in the blink of an eye.

My package (details here), includes four portrait sessions: maternity, newborn, 6 month/sitting, and a one year session with cake smash.  If you prefer, you can replace your maternity session with a 9 month mini session.  These sessions ensure that you capture every adorable stage and don’t miss any of those fleeting moments.  Each session in my package includes 2 digital images so that you may show off your adorable baby and make prints wherever you wish.  Also included in the package is a custom Facebook timeline cover (examples here) of your favorite newborn images, and a custom smart phone app to show off your gallery.  After your child’s birthday session, I compile a custom designed 10×10 lay flat fine art album… it is BEAUTIFUL.  The memories preserved on these thick, museum quality pages with be cherished forever.

 I adore watching the “baby plan” babies grow.  And I often document this growth with what I call “recreation images.”  I like to choose a favorite photo from the newborn session and use the same prop, pose, and/or backdrop at each milestone session to show exactly how much the baby has grown.   You can see an example below from Nolan’s first year in my airplane prop.  Babies grow fast, I highly recommend signing up for the Belly to Birthday package so you don’t miss those milestones!

Nolan just graduated from my baby plan.  It was an honor to serve his family and watch him grow.  He is seriously adorable and I honestly think he should be a baby model!  This kid is CUTE.  First you see him with his birthday sign… this is a chalkboard that I customize for your child to share their stats, favorite foods, words, etc.

Nolan was not a fan of the cake smash.  You just never know which kids will love it or hate it!  But, it is still adorable…

He did, however, love the bubble bath in my cute shower tub that washed all that cake away!

San Antonio Newborn Photographer | Baby Boy Chapel

Chapel came to my San Antonio area studio for his newborn portraits from Fredericksburg, Texas.  His parents requested rustic, natural, country and hunting images. Dad is a taxidermist and avid hunter…so of course we had to get some shots in camo with Daddy’s antlers and an ammo box.   🙂   Chapel is the sweetest baby and flashed me several big smiles.  Congratulations H family, it was a pleasure photographing your beautiful son.

 

I get a lot of questions about my rustic stick stool, isn’t it an awesome prop?!  It comes from The Prop Barn.

San Antonio Child Photographer | Holiday Mini Sessions

As the Holidays approach, I am happy to announce child studio mini sessions to capture the perfect images for your family Christmas card!  Photographs also make excellent Christmas gifts.

These mini sessions are 20 minutes long and take place in my studio on two set dates.  They are open to children 4 months through 10 years.  Siblings are welcome, but no additional images are included. Please note that posing is limited for infants that do not yet sit up.

The package includes your styled shoot, 6 images of your choice in high resolution via download within 8 days, and the possibility of additional files available for purchase.

My Christmas minis are simple and classic.  I provide some props and give you suggestions on what to bring. This year I will offer the following themes of which we will use two per session:

Rustic Christmas

Glitter & Shimmer
