Vivian | San Antonio First Birthday Cake Smash Photos | Chelsea Lietz Photography

Happy little Vivi came to see me in my San Antonio area studio for a first birthday cake smash portrait session.  We had so much fun with a coral, mint, and gold color scheme.  Her coral ombre cake was made by Inphinity Designs.

For some outdoor portraits, Vivian wore one of my Dollcake Oh So Girly frocks and a floral headpiece by Style Me Jaime.

One of my favorite things to do for milestone sessions is to recreate some of the newborn shots by using some of the same props to show growth.  Vivi’s then & now images are so cute! (even the Aggie one.. though that is hard for me to admit)

This sweet girl *kinda* liked the cake smash… but she REALLY liked the post-smash bubble bath!

Vivian had an amazing year, and I look forward to many more years of watching her grow and bloom.  Happy birthday Vivian!

Celebrate 600! | San Antonio Newborn Photographer | Chelsea Lietz Photography

Why is Henry wearing a party hat?!

He is celebrating his birth day, yes.  But this party animal was also my 600th newborn to photograph!  SIX HUNDRED, you guys!

Henry’s session was in early April so I’m a little late to the party, but this is something I am very proud of.  I have been in business since 2007 but have only been shooting full time for just under three years and specializing in newborns for two… so 600 babies is a LOT of babies.

My husband jokes that we can’t go anywhere without seeing some of “my” babies.

I now have families returning to me with second and third children… and that is *such* a huge honor to me.

I love this job.  I work hard, really hard… but I adore what I do.

I get to play with your babies while also raising my own.

So thank you.  Thank you to the 600 babies that helped me to learn and grow. Thank you to the families that trusted me to capture their precious and fleeting memories.

Here’s to 600 more!

Bluebonnet Portraits San Antonio | Chelsea Lietz Photography

I had another wonderful year taking bluebonnet photos of the cutest kids in the San Antonio area!  Our pasture was full of blooms this spring and the kids had so much fun in the golden light. I just adore how evident their personalities are in these.  And I also adore spring in Texas when the bluebonnets bloom. <3   Thanks for coming to play with me!

San Antonio Child Photographer | Chelsea Lietz Photography | Girlhood

Being a newborn and child photographer is the job of my dreams. True story.  But staying inspired is crucial to avoiding burnout.  This spring I decided to style a shoot *just for me,* and I chose something I am inspired by in my own life… girlhood!

Since I am blessed with three young daughters, my life is full of pink, sparkles, frilly dresses, twirling, giggles, accessories, and playing dress up.  All things girly and innocent and sweet and fancy!

I styled my models (just regular four and five year old gals willing to come play in front of the camera) in gorgeous dresses from Dollcake Oh So Girly and Tutu Du Monde.  The floral halos are from Honeydrop Designs (formerly So Cuddly Creations) and Created by Carli.

These girls were so much fun!  I wish I’d taken some video of the shoot so that you could hear their sweet giggles!  When one started, it spread like wildflower… even to me.  Girls are such an adventure.

These sessions were shot with my Canon 5d Mark iii and Canon 70-200mm f2.8L IS II. I process my images in Adobe Camera Raw and Photoshop.

These dresses and accessories are available in my studio and are available for use in my Princess Sessions for young girls in the San Antonio area. San Antonio Baby Photographer | Twin First Year Portraits | Chelsea Lietz Photography

I just spent a year photographing sweet twin girls as newborns, at 6 months old, and for their first birthday portraits.  Being a San Antonio baby photographer is the best!  I loved watching Agnes and Ingeborg grow.  They are both so beautiful in their own, very different way. They have fun parents from different cultures and their family is the perfect combination of all of them.  Dad brought in this Union Jack flag bench and we used it at all 3 sessions along with these tiebacks from Strawberry Girl Couture.  We also did grow with me shots with my vintage boxes.

The girls changed so much in a year! I love photographing twins.  But I also love watching them grow.  The cute birthday board holds all the precious info parents want to remember about their babies at one year of age. They chose to skip a cake smash, but boy did the girls love playing with balloons! Happy birthday Agnes & Iggy.
